Roof Replacement Services

From start to finish, Alamo Roofing strives to be unmatched not only in customer service but also equally in our quality of workmanship. Allow us to educate you in our roofing process.

Tear Off

We remove your old roofing materials from the shingles all the way down to the decking in order to properly inspect.

Inspect / Repair decking

It is crucial that every section of your decking is inspected for previously problematic areas or rotted wood. If any problem areas are uncovered, we will be sure to coordinate with you and address them. The last thing we want to do is install shingles to a compromised substrate. Your roof is only as durable as its weakest link.

Synthetic Underlayment

Comparing felt paper versus synthetic underlayment, felt paper is one of the oldest types of roofing underlayment. This is a cheaper product and unfortunately dries out and crumbles easily, making it less effective overall. Alamo Roofing uses premium synthetic underlayment on all of our projects because of its high durability and its superior ability to repel water.

It typically doesn’t tear and is suitable for the extended UV and moisture exposure inflicted on roofs in South Texas. This is especially helpful if there’s a gap between underlayment and shingle installation, which is not uncommon. Synthetic underlayment is also up to 4x lighter than felt paper.

Valley Metal

Some roofing companies will not include valley metal when installing your new roof. Some will even leave the old valley metal and not replace it when replacing a roof. Alamo Roofing does not cut corners: we always replace new valley metal in all of your valleys.

Ice and Water installation

To weatherize and protect against harsh weather conditions, Alamo Roofing installs ice and water barriers in areas prone to precipitation penetration, including chimneys, walls, and dead valleys.

Since this is not a code requirement in the state of Texas,  most other roofing companies will pinch pennies by omitting such protective measures that Alamo Roofing includes in all of its projects.

Lead Pipe Jacks

Pipe jacks can be an easy entry point for the water and critters. As part of our roof installation process, we make it a point to wrap all of your pipe jacks with lead sleeves. Upon proper installation, it is near impossible for one of these to leak and keep unwanted critters out. In 9 out of 10 roof leaks, the pipe jacks are to blame – our experience tells us that using a rubber boot to seal a pipe jack is just not enough.
